My Elevated Platform for Trap-Bar Deadlifts or Squatlifts

My Elevated Platform for Trap-Bar Deadlifts

I sometimes use this elevated platform to perform the trap bar deadlifts. Doing this exercise from a platform a few inches high involves more leg muscles and is what makes the trap bar deadlift a real 'squatlift'. Due to the increased range of movement you have to take care not to round your back at the bottom.

I don't use this a lot as I tend to spend most of my time doing squats and doing trap bar deadlifts from the floor (without the platform), and for a few weeks of the year I like to do the trap bar deadlift (or squatlift) on this platform just for some variation.

This platform can also be used for the stiff-legged deadlift but ONLY if you have the flexibility. Again you have to keep your back flat (never round your back).
