My Lat Station

My Lat Station

My lat station was bought as an extension to my power rack (they were designed this way so fit perfectly). I had two options - I could have had a weight stack or the plate load system. The weight stack was more expensive and as I was buying lots of weight plates it made sense to buy the plate load version.

The lat station bolts onto the rear of my power rack as shown in the picture above. My lat station has a high pulley and a low pulley. The low pulley can be used for cable rows and curls (if you want). The high pulley is used for lat pulldowns, tricep pushdowns and can be used for weight crunches too. Being able to do lat pulldowns is useful as many people struggle to use the full range of movement when doing overhand wide-grip pullups doe to lack of strength - don't panic - that is a VERY tough exercise and most people start with the lat pulldowns and go on to weighted overhand wide-grip pullups (pullups with weight added via a dip belt or similar).
